The Way Ahead is a League of Jewish Women welfare project providing a unique headwear service for people who have lost their hair through chemotherapy or illness. Teams of trained volunteers work with five hospitals, with regular demonstrations taking place at Bart’s, Kingston, Northwick Park, The London Clinic and University College Hospital London, to help patients to maintain their dignity and confidence. Home visits are also carried out and we are closely aligned to Chai Cancer Care. All our volunteers undergo regular training, and are DBS checked.
We have a wide range of scarves, pre-tied scarves, bandanas, buffs, turbans and hats from the UK, America and Israel. We offer this service to people from the Jewish and non-Jewish community.
