Estelle Weiner who belongs to the Cheadle and Gatley group in Manchester was interviewed for Cheadle FM. This is a local Manchester radio station set up at the start of the lockdown. She was interviewed for about 5 minutes on the work of the League in her area and what we have been doing as volunteers during the crisis.
She mentioned the number of members in the North West Region and the number of groups which includes The Fylde (Blackpool and Southport) and that there are groups in the Cheadle area as well as another two in South Manchester. She mentioned the sort of work we would usually do but just now we have members sewing scrubs and doing various knitting’s projects. She also reported on a successful meeting, using Zoom, for two local Groups.
They have asked her to pre-record a Daily Antidote ( a bit like BBC’s Thought for the day).
